What exactly is HOPN? +
HOPN is a night-out app. You start a "trip" when the night begins, check in at every spot you go to, snap photos and add notes along the way, and see your group on a live map the entire time. In the morning, the app stitches everything into a visual recap of the night — your route, your stops, your photos, your people. It's the difference between a great night you only half-remember and a great night you actually have a record of.
How much does it cost? +
HOPN will be free to download and use at launch. We may add premium features down the line, but the core experience — starting trips, checking in, the live group map, and the morning recap — will always be free.
When does HOPN launch? +
We're heading to TestFlight (the iOS beta) first, with early access going to people on the waitlist. Full public launch on the App Store follows after, with Android close behind. Join the waitlist and we'll tell you the moment there's a spot for you.
Who can see my location? +
Only the people you've added to your trip — the crew you're actually out with. And only for as long as the trip is active. The moment the trip ends, location sharing ends. HOPN is not a follow-me-forever app. It's a "we're out tonight" app.
What happens to the photos and check-ins from my night? +
They stay inside your trip. You and the people in that specific trip can see them. Nothing gets posted to a public feed — there isn't one. The recap is yours to keep, share, screenshot, or delete entirely. Your choice.
Is HOPN only for going to bars? +
Nope. Any night out that involves multiple spots and a group works — bar crawls, concerts, birthdays, bachelorette weekends, festival days, visiting a friend's city, a wedding weekend. If it's a story you'd want to remember the next morning, HOPN is built for it.
Where are you launching first? +
We're starting in specific college towns to build a real community before we scale, since HOPN works best when your whole crew is on it. If you want to bring HOPN to your campus or city, get on the waitlist and tell us where you are — we read every signup.
